i am in trouble with W163 ML 400 CDI. I hope you can help Car runs very nice while normally driving, idle fine. But, if i am going up the mountain with hard acceleration, fuel cutoff and engine stops. I cannot start anymore, starter cranks. I have to wait 3 minutes, then, i can start engine and drive again. With hot engine, always after hard

Oil leaks from the front seal of the turbo where the intake tube meets it. The oil gets into the connector of the shut off motor and shorts the motor out blowing the fuse. If you get a scanner and have between 8-10 cdi module codes for sensors, that is the likely culprit. Sid. Mercedes-Benz Master Certified.
If the outside temperature is below 50F (above 50 and you won't get any pre-glow prior to start), and from ignition on until 2 seconds voltage =12vdc=2200F (Plug temperature) Regardless of temperature and to lower the emissions after a start, from 2 seconds to 10 seconds = 10vdc = 1800F.

The most common problem with the W163 is transmission failure. The second generation ML320s (W164) have a common problem of engine oil leaks. These leaks typically occur around the oil cooler lines or at the front crankshaft seal. The W166 was mainly reported for electrical issues and the W167 had problems with air suspension.

The problem I am seeing is engine idling/revs behaviour, from cold it idles at just over 900 rpm and won't drop until a good 15 minutes of driving. When it does eventually drop to just over 800 rpm it will on occasion sit back at 900 even though the engine has warmed up.

Symptoms displayed-. NO smoke from muffler. (Small drips of water observed) NO water observed in crankcase oil or signs of whipped oil. Oil Level about normal. Tranny fluid level about normal. No signs of water in fluid. Motor runs with no signs of overheating for extended periods.
